Fill the vase

Cool water. Add the flower food packet from your box and stir until it dissolves.
Trim the stems

Sharp scissors. Cut each stem at a 45-degree angle for better hydration.
Strip the lower leaves

Anything that would sit below the waterline comes off. Remove the brown outer guard petals too.
Place and hydrate

Set the roses in the vase. Let them hydrate for a few hours before you move them.
Keep them cool

Cool spot, out of direct sun. Trim and change water every few days. A few ice cubes buy you extra time.
